Basics
Stage2 is accelerated incubation, emphasizing market strategy and access to finance for startup and innovative SME teams. Investor readiness is combined with professional evaluation, consulting, and advising from select International Mentors. Specific help is given with go2market, business incorporation, customer development and post-bootstrapping funding. Teams should be ready to capitalize on their prototype/launch efforts and approach qualified investors. Stage2 is offered by Innovation Farm and Atlantis Research.

How is it done?
Teams are admitted for a 1 to 6-month Pipeline period. If you are Investor-ready from the beginning, your team proceeds straight to Raise of Finance. During incubation you’ll have regularly scheduled interaction with advisors, coaches, angels and fund managers. These experts provide interim assessments, and guidance in areas like incorporation (local or international), Go2Market, customer development, technology, recruitment, valuation, term-sheets, and intellectual property. You’ll also get work space and meeting rooms in a professional setting.

What happens during Stage2?
Schedule
You and your team work as hard as possible to hit the market and be ready to raise money! During your residency (up to 6 months) we will assess your project for market and investor readiness. When your business is ready to raise capital we will then help you prepare your business case in a proven, investor-targeted format and find, approach and negotiate with investors.

Assessment & Advising
The teams are during the program (pipeline and RoF periods). These assessments are provided by investment professionals with extensive international experience. In addition, teams are given a Pre-money Valuation at the beginning of the program if their business plan is adequately complete and characterized by investment readiness, which is then revised upon completion. Teams are expected to regularly seek out and receive feedback

from the program’s advisory network (composed of international professionals, business angels, fund managers, startup founders, etc.). This feedback is a crucial component and provides the basis for teams’ progress.

Schedule & Progress
You can work remotely or on-site. Coaches are available during regularly programmed office hours to work with teams, check progress and facilitate meetings with mentors. When you are ready, we will connect you with an active network of Angel Investors and VCs.

Who is eligible?
You must be a team with a prototype and a complete concept to be admitted. Powerpoint startups (without prototype) are usually not considered ready. We place a big emphasis on team, so be prepared to enhance your manpower if necessary. Products/Concepts are evaluated based upon: innovation, technology, and probable market viability.

Is incorporation Necessary?
No, and Yes. Stage2 is designed to help teams become viable companies. So, while you don’t have to be incorporated for the Pipeline period, you must file for incorporation when you are ready to raise capital. Your company can be established in any place in the world according to your best interests. Stage2 advisors can assist with any procedures and filings upon request.

Is there an Investment made in the Teams?
Stage2 offers a 20,000 euro, non-cash investment package to each accepted team. This includes hosted office & meeting space, professional services, coaching, investment advising/valuation as well as WebServices through Amazon.

Is there a Fee to participate?
No. (and Yes). In a nutshell, the program gives you a great place to work, mentoring, and advising for free for 6 months, and without the obligation to form a company. The only commitment you make during this time is your willingness to progress, and the «right of first refusal» to be your investment advisors should you decide to go for pre/seed money. Following the pipeline period, if you choose to continue to Raise of Finance proceedings, we will agree on compensation – either equity or a success fee.

How can a participating startup benefit from Amazon Web Services?
A participating startup might be eligible for:

$5,000 in AWS Promotional Credit valid for 2 years
1 year of AWS Business Support (up to $5,000)

Access to the AWS Technical and Business Essentials web-based (or instructor-led) training ($600 value per course)
